Well I signed up for classes again. I'm taking GRDE297 (Indp. Study for Quark Xpress since they're not offering the class this semester according to the online registration system), GRDE201 (Design Practicum - to develop my resume, cover letter, personal logo, personal webpage, portfolio, etc.), and GRDE207 (study on advetising).
GRDE297 and 201 start as soon as I want as long as I get all my work done, and GRDE207 starts on the 25th of the month and is a Tuesday/Thursday class. The 25th seems like it's kind of a late start considering the class is a 14 week class. I'll have to find out just to make sure.
I've been in kind of a slump lately and have been feeling totally worthless as far as design goes. Maybe I should just enjoy my vacation before school starts up again and finish up the web site I'm working on for Jubilee Jobs in Grand Rapids, MI. A friend, Adam, hooked me up with someone who worked there and they're allowing me to do their webpage, which I'm not getting paid for, but I am getting credit for at school, which is sweet.
After this semester I'll only have like 3 more classes left before I get my degree, and they're all bullshat classes like "Math for Liberal Arts Majors" and "Communications 111" and stuff like that. I don't think any of them are going to be hard. The third one I have to take is a class where we just watch movies and plays and write reports on them. That's going to be a hard one... Haha.
Anyway, as I get more stuff done for classes I'll post it here. I've been toying with the idea of asking the department head at KCC, Doug, if it'd be cool if I set up a .com address with a forum on it for KCC graphics design students so we could post up our stuff and share ideas and give each other feedback and stuff. I wonder if he'd go for that... it's not like it'd be any work for anyone once the forum was set up - I'd probably just use PHPBB and since I've already got hosting it'd only cost me $25/yr for the .com, which I wouldn't mind paying out of pocket. If there are any KCC GRDE students, or former students reading this, let me know what you think about it and maybe we can get something started.
